[msb-alumni] Beware of Strange Messages

BlankJust to advise Listers:

Rich and I co-administer these groups.  Yesterday, I saw a message for the 
facts 
machine, and today I saw one for MSB alumni.  They were both posts by a 
non-member which we don't permit.

Reason for Advisory:

Both posts were sent to several people including some others who I know are 
visually impaired.  The one for MSB Alumni today had "raiders" in the to: field.

The bad thing about these message is it said in the subject line "Important 
Message".

The body basically said Hello, you have an important message and then gave a 
link.

If you click on that link, I'm certain you would get some malware on your 
machine; either a bad virus or ransom ware that would not allow you to access 
your files.

Somebody at my former employer opened such a message in their email ten days 
ago, and basically took out the phone, email and accounting system for the 
utility.  They are still trying to restore stuff and haven't said if they paid 
money to retrieve their files.
