Thanks Fred. I for one really hope this works out. I'll certainly use it.

Hi rich,
It is a little too soon for me to know the actual procedure. I think it will
be done through"Michigan.gov/elections." At least, that is how they did the
May election. I will send out more specifics as I learn about them.
Warmest Regards,
Fred

Available to all Disabled Michigan Voters
So are all absentee ballots going to be accessible or do we have to request
that when filling out the application? This is great news job well done.
Thanks.

Hello Fellow Raiders,
Below is very good news for blind people. The U.S. Federal Court has
ordered the Michigan Secretary of State to make absentee ballots accessible
to blind voters. It is not a trivial thing that this was a federal ruling.
The federal courts have a lot of power to enforce their orders. Now, please
vote in August and November. Let everyone know your experience so that we
can make any needed improvements. The Court will be overseeing this
election and the 2022 election to make sure the Secretary of State is making
elections accessible.
I want to thank Jason Terkish and his law firm for taking on this case. I
wish to thank, fellow NFBMI member, Ody Norkin, a really great guy, for
helping us make this happen. Also, the Marc Riccobono, President of the
National Federation of the Blind for supporting the Michigan NFB in joining
as a co-complainant. The involvement of our national office was invaluable
to providing information to the court which the defendants had to agree was
proof that there was no reason blind folks could not vote here in Michigan.
Thank you to my fellow alumni of the Michigan School for the Blind for your
encouragement. It is that Raider Spirit which gives us all hope and
confidence to live in our world as proud Americans who participate in all
the benefits of citizenship.
Warmest Regards,
Fred
