I am emailing to inquire if your community/organization would be interested
in sponsoring a student or two to ALIM’s annual 2016 Summer Program

The ALIM Summer Program is an intensive three week-long retreat seeking to
educate and empower Muslims with the requisite knowledge to understand
their religion in the light of a changing world. The curriculum addresses
traditional subjects such as Fiqh, Tafsir and Sirah as well as contemporary
issues in courses like Islam in America. You can find out more about the

ALIM aims to provides:
- Critical Thinking Development: The program is designed to primarily
develop critical thinking skills in young Muslims growing up in today's
society, and empower them with the tools to balance contemporary realities
with traditional sciences.
- Scholar Mentorship: Scholars are readily available to students
allowing them many opportunities for intimate discussion that will help
them develop a grounded and intellectual understanding of the tradition.
- Safe Space: A safe environment is provided for all students to ask
questions they have always had with regards to their faith and engage in
deeper conversations with their fellow students.

An investment in a ALIM student is an investment in your community as these
students are able to benefit the community upon their return, and teach
what they have learned to others. Tuition for one student is $1,900 and
covers room, board, food, and transportation within the program (but not to
and from the program). Sponsoring a student is a great way to lower the
barrier of entry for many qualified students who otherwise would not be
able to attend.
What We Need From You
1. Please respond whether or not your community/organization would be
interested in sponsoring a student(s) and I can gladly send over more
details.
2. If not interested in sponsorship, please identify student leaders and
promising youth who you think could benefit and encourage them to apply

Please keep in mind that all individuals pursuing the sponsorship still
have to undergo the process of applying to ALIM and being admitted on their
merit. At the same, we will highly consider any community recommendations.

our ALIM classes will be made better by the dynamic minds the community has
to offer. In turn your community will have been enriched with more
Islamically literate students who can pass on what they have learned to
others.
