St. Pius V (1504-1572) This is the pope whose job was to implement the historic Council of Trent. If we think recent popes have had difficulties in implementing Vatican Council II, Pius V had even greater problems after that historic council more than four centuries ago. Since therefore we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the divinity is like an image fashioned from gold, silver, or stone by human art and imagination. God has overlooked the times of ignorance, but now he demands that all people everywhere repent because he has established a day on which he will 'judge the world with justice' through a man he has appointed, and he has provided confirmation for all by raising him from the dead." ~Acts 17:15, 21-18:1 Jesus said to his disciples: "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. ~John 16:12-15 Scriptures: http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/ .=: M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y :=. God is God. God is not an image fashioned from some precious material. God calls us to repentance and asks us to follow His way. Jesus reminds his disciples that he has much more to tell them, but that they can look forward to being guided by the Spirit of truth. They will not be alone. We are not alone. .=: P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y :=. I pray that I may seek the living and true God, turn back to Him with all my heart and strive to do His work and His will. I pray that I may have the consolation of the Holy Spirit and know that I will be guided by truth. I pray that I may know that I will nev never be alone. .=: W E P R A Y :=. We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a good day! May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!
