I will be at our Diocesan Fall Clergy Conference in Wisconsin Rapids on
Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday I'll have eye surgery at Mayo Clinic in
Rochester. Prayer intentions will not be accepted these days, since Morning
Prayer has already been prepared. Know that you'll be very much in my
thoughts and that I'll pray for your intentions. Keep me in your prayers as
well!

"They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the
creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever." ~Romans 1:16-25

"The heavens proclaim the glory of God." ~Psalm 19

The Lord said to him, "Oh, you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside
of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil."

How easy it is for us to drift from God. We can try to make our lives look
good on the outside, but be filled with impurity and selfishness inside. We
can draw near to the God who always wants to draw near to us. We can be
forgiven, healed and returned to favor.

I pray that I may notice how I have drifted with God and strive to return.
I pray that I may be healed and set on the right path once more.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
