St. Clare (1194-1253)
One of the more sugary movies made about Francis of Assisi pictures Clare as
a golden-haired beauty floating through sun-drenched fields, a sort of
one-woman counterpart to the new Franciscan Order. The beginning of her
religious life was indeed movie material. Having refused to marry at 15, she
was moved by the dynamic preaching of Francis. He became her lifelong friend
and spiritual guide. For more, follow the link below:

It is the LORD who marches before you; he will be with you and will never
fail you or forsake you. So do not fear or be dismayed." ~Deuteronomy 31:1-8

"Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not
enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the
greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as
this in my name receives me."

God is with us always ... in the uncertainties and transitions of our lives,
and when things are going great. We are called to know God's love for us
... for little children, for adults, for all of us no matter how badly we
have sinned. We can trust in God and know his abiding presence with us.

I pray that I may know God's abiding presence with me. I pray that I may
become humble like a little child, and welcome others to come closer to God
with great humility.

Brenda requests prayers for her niece who is having seizures. Peggy asks
prayers for her husband who is slowing recovering from major surgery and is
facing more tests this week. Marianne is asking prayers for herself because
she is having serious eye surgery on Tuesday the 11th. Sherry requests
prayers safe travels as we head across the country to welcome our son home
from Iraq.

Lynn asks prayers for her son's friends who were in a bad car wreck and for
several other intentions. A member requests prayers for a special intention
for himself and the marriage of his daughter. Debbie requests prayers for
her sister who is having major surgery this week, and for rain in Texas.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10
