From Father Pat Umberger ..=: S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y :=. From today's Mass ... "Put on, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humilty, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance agasinst another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do." ~Paul to the Colossians "Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemneed. Forive and you will be forgiven." Luke 6 .=: S A I N T F O R T O D A Y :=. St. John Chrysostom was born in Antioch about the year 349. He received a good education and lived as an ascetic. He was ordained a priest and distinguished himself by great spiritual preaching. He was elected bishop of Constantinople in 397 and was a great pastor to his people. He was twice forced into exile by the hatred of the imperial court and the envy of his enemies. His preaching, writings and life explained Catholic doctrine and helped others to live a good Christian life. He forgave others as Christ calls us to do. .=: M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y :=. Sometimes we hold on to anger and resentments against others. We might even say that we'll never forgive, as long as we live. We can come to see that our resentments hurt us much more than those we have problems with. We can listen to today's Scriptures and ask God for the grace to let go of our anger and resentments. We can allow God to do for us what we find difficult or impossible for us to do by ourselves. .=: P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y :=. I pray that I may become willing to have God remove the resentments I hold against others. I pray that I may follow the teachings of Paul, Jesus and John Chrysostom and stop judging and condemning. I pray that God may give me the grace to forgive. .=: S C R I P T U R E S A N D S A I N T O F T H E D A Y := Scriptures: http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/ Saint of the Day: http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/SaintofDay/ .=: W E P R A Y :=. We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a good day! May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!
