St. Denis and Companions (d. 258?)
This martyr and patron of France is traditionally held to have been the
first bishop of Paris. His popularity is due to a series of legends,
especially those connecting him with the great abbey church of St. Denis in
Paris. He was for a time confused with the writer now called
Pseudo-Dionysius. For more, follow the link below:

Are you so stupid? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now ending with
the flesh? Did you experience so many things in vain?-if indeed it was in
vain. ~Galatians 3:1-5

"And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and
the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one
who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. ~Luke
11:5-13

Are we people of the flesh, or of the spirit? How quickly we can change
when we lose focus. It is important that we stay close to God. It is
important that we are persistent and that we pray. God will not let us
down.

I pray that I may live as a person of the spirit, not of the flesh. I pray
that I may stay close to God and know that God will take care of me.

Jill asks prayers for her husband to find a job soon. Juanita asks prayers
for a special intention. Bill asks for prayers for an employee, who is in
critical condition after a brain hemorrhage. A member asks for prayers for
a priest friend who is being challenged in his faith.

Nancy asks prayers for the soul of a dear coworker who was thought to be in
remission yet died yesterday - may he rest in peace. Neil asks prayers for a
special intention. Tim asks for prayers for his wife to reunite the family.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
