He commissioned us to preach to the people and testify that he is the one
appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead. To him all the
prophets bear witness, that everyone who believes in him will receive
forgiveness of sins through his name." ~Acts 10:34a, 35-43

With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he vanished
from their sight. Then they said to each other,
"Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and
opened the Scriptures to us?" So they set out at once and returned to
Jerusalem where they found gathered together the eleven and those with them
who were saying,
"The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!" ~Luke 24:13-35

Jesus' disciples couldn't believe it when they heard that he rose from the
dead. It took some time before they were able to comprehend what it meant.
Jesus appeared to them in the days following His resurrection to help them
understand. As they were commissioned to preach to the people, we are as
well. Our belief can change our lives. When others begin to see that change,
they can believe more fully as well.

I pray that I may come to a fuller understanding of what the resurrection
means for me. I pray that others may believe on the strength of the loving
changes that take place in my life.

and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
