St. Agnes of Assisi 1197-1253

Agnes was the sister of St. Clare and her first follower. When Agnes left
home two weeks after Clare's departure, their family attempted to bring
Agnes back by force. For more, click the link below:

"But many in Israel were determined and resolved in their hearts not to eat
anything unclean; they preferred to die rather than to be defiled with
unclean food or to profane the holy covenant; and they did die." ~1 Mc
1:10-15, 41-43, 54-57, 62-63

Jesus told him, "Have sight; your faith has saved you." He immediately
received his sight and followed him, giving glory to God. When they saw
this, all the people gave praise to God. ~Luke 18:35-43

Many, because of difficulty in living their faith or the attraction of
personalities, may be willing to give up their faith and do as others do. It
is sometimes easier to die for our faith than to live it. Because of his
faith, the blind man sitting on the roadside on the way to Jericho received
his sight. Are we willing to put our faith into action?

I pray that I can hold onto my faith even though taking an easier and softer
way seems tempting. I pray that I can continue to trust in God's love for
me, and receive the healing and strength God offers me.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
