Saint Isaac Jogues and John de Brebeuf and Companions (died between 1642 and
1649)
These eight members of the Society of Jesus were killed in North America
after fearful torture by members of the Huron and Iroquois tribes. They had
worked hard to bring true faith tot eh natives. John de Brebeuf composed a
dictionary and catechism in Huron and saw 7,000 converted to Christianity
before his death.

"Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not record." ~Romans 4:1-8

"I turn to you, Lord, in time of trouble, and you fill me with the joy of
salvation." ~Psalm 32

"There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will
not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard
in the light ..." ~Luke 12:1-7

Jesus said, "Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of
them has escaped the notice of God. Even the hairs of your head have all
been counted. Do not be afraid. Your are worth more than many sparrows."
Through Jesus our sins can be forgiven. We can turn from our selfishness and
back to the Lord who wants to save us.

I pray that I may know my worth in God's eyes. I pray that I may turn to
God for forgiveness and live a good life worthy of my calling.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
