I recently talked with Paul Brien about this and he quoted .001"
to .002" (max) clearance per side or a TOTAL diametral difference of
+.002"-.004" for axle-sized shafts. I had recenly provided .003"-.005"
clearance on a few non-axle service shaft fits which is too much so I've
mended my ways.
