 Rich,
I don't like your chances of getting Jarrah in the UK. We (the ones who live
when it grows) just won't get Jarrah very shortly, due to the forrests being
nearly all gone. Any hardwood will do, not only because of it's strength and
general dimensional stability, but because hardwoods are also generally hard
to ignite.... <GRIN>... which can be a problem if someone has a leaky
ashpan.

Cheers,

Phill.

Hi there all,

I while back, several people suggested using Jarrah for sleepers for 5"
gauge track. What other hardwoods have people used with success for
sleepers, or alternatively, can anyone suggest a source of Jarrah in the
UK?

Yours,

Rich.
