The next meeting of the Manningham U3A Computer Users Group will be

on Monday 4 October 2004,
from 1:00pm to 2:30pm in the Function Room,
presented by Barry Klein.

The following definition is by Judith C. Kallos who created the website

Using technology effectively to communicate with others both personally
and professionally with knowledge, understanding and courtesy."

Barry will discuss the etiquette of using the internet, particularly email.

Part of being courteous is to ensure that your computer is free of
unwanted software that can cause problems for others (such as viruses
that email themselves to your address list).

If you would like a CD of software that contains software to make your
PC less vulnerable to viruses and other "malware", please reply to this
email requesting the CD. The CD will be distributed at the meeting if
the request is received in time.

The software on the CD will be:
AVG Anti Virus
Zone Alarm (Firewall)
Firefox (browser, less suceptible to malware than Internet Explorer)
Thunderbird (email, less suceptible to malware than Outlook Express)
