Sorry to hear. Did I ever tell all of you my story of helping the vet put a
pony down?
I should type that up some time.
Weekend weather is wet and cold so that isn’t helping the feelings of
all is not well with the world.
Winter is coming down there eh?
Our winter lingers too. I used to be happy when it snowed or went cold because
it meant more skiing... but now I get the misery of flatlanders when it snows.
Just annoying now. We had a short warm week right before the equinox, but it
has been cold, snow-rain mix, and very windy since.
Too early to start the garden, but at least the hens are laying. Damn I love
fresh eggs!
For all practical purposes I'm in forced retirement. About twice a year some
recruiter finds me on LinkedIn and gets all excited, and I get sucked into an
interview cycle. With Amazon it is once a year, and then every other
hyperscaler once a year (including my former employer) and then someone
interviewing realizes I'm old enough to be their father and it all ends
suddenly. I do get some saisfaction knowing that unlike racism, ageism will
catch up to everyone eventually... all those fuckers will get theirs. I just am
pissed because *I* never did it to anyone... as several folks here know, I
hired more than my share of old folks in my time. I don't care what or who you
are, if you can get shit done, I'd hire you.
