That very nice of you.
Once a month, I drive by one of six different grocery stores looking for
someone panhandling outside. I tell them to grab a cart, get what they need for
themselves or their family, then I meet them at checkout and pay for
everything. It’s normally about $150 or so and it always, ALWAYS includes at
least one of these: toothpaste, peroxide, band aids, soap, toilet paper,
tampons. They never buy soda or alcohol, even though I put no stipulations on
what or how much they can put in the cart.
After I leave, I sit in silence for about 15 minutes in my clean clothes in my
car in my garage attached to my house and am extremely thankful that I can do
just that.
