When I started the previous gig I asked the lead IT guy who was also the lead
network guy (revered by the
CEO/founder/owner) for a copy of the network map and data flows. There are no
maps - for a company with
worldwide presence.
Next Q&A set (literally word for word):
Me: “Will I set off any alarms if I run nmap?”
Revered network guy: “What’s nmap?”

This is the second time I have heard this woeful tale, and it's just as
stomach-churningly distressing as the first time I heard it.
One wonders how these companies even stay in business.
