Hope all is/was going well, at least I think 🤔 you can’t sink to deeply.
I probably told you DG used to maintain the open wire route between Fenny and
Leighton Buzzard that ran alongside the Grand Union. The operators would report
a fault and he would walk the route carrying all he needed. I did ask if he
found carrying a ladder all that way but of course they used climbing irons. He
did carry ratchet and tongs, nibs(?), a length of open wire and a few bits and
bobs. Still I a bit of a task but I don’t think he walked it al the way, just
the bits without road access for his M20 BSA with box sidecar.
