MISSBIRDERS,
This morning at first light I decided to hike the lake trail at Wall Doxey
State Park in search of the passerines and other species Gene had described
earlier, hoping for additional species after last night's rain.
I was treated to much of the same, with cooperative, jaw-dropping looks at
Prothonotary (5) Yellow-throated (2), Black-and White (1), and Hooded
Warblers (6). Black-throated Green Warblers were singing as well. A pair of
Barn Swallows was present on the lake. White-throated Sparrows, Eastern
Phoebe, the winter birds continue.
It's a great time also to listen to and observe at close range species like
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and White-eyed Vireo at close range.
