Martha and I enjoyed the MOS Spring 2017 meeting in Jackson. I recently
traded in my old Nikon D5000 for a new Nikon D500. Luckily Martha doesn’t
mind me feeding my photography habit, I mean photography hobby! I’m still
learning to fly it so yesterday I spent more time lugging my camera than
lugging my binoculars. J.R. conducted a fine field trip to the Delta near
Yazoo City so I had lots of opportunities to experiment with the new
camera. The catfish ponds and Panther Swamp National Wildlife Refuge
provided for the viewing of thousands of shorebirds and wading birds. This
shot of this Solitary Sandpiper will never make the cover of Audubon
Magazine, but at least it’s in focus.
