In line with guidance from National Audubon and our Federal government,
Mississippi Coast Audubon Society is canceling our spring field trips at
least through the end of April. You can view the list at
mscoastaudubon.org to see which trips are affected at this time (give us
a little time to get the notice on our web page, which should happen later
today). This DOES include the trip Saturday March 21 at Clower-Thornton
park; that one is cancelled as well.
We know many of you have lives upended and activities curtailed by the
coronavirus epidemic. We hope you and your family stay well. If your
circumstances permit, getting outdoors to connect with the natural world is
an important way to maintain equilibrium and keep your mind engaged in
positive ways. The “MS Coast Birding” tab on our website has a host of
suggestions for places to go and ways to bird and learn on your own or with
your kids or grandkids. If you report what you see here or on eBird,
iNaturalist, of in one of the many facebook groups such as Mississippi
Coast Band of Birders or Mississippi Naturalists, others can share in your
discoveries.
We’re all in this together. Wash your hands, don’t share equipment, and
stay connected. We’ll be back with field trips in the future!
