As an FYI to the Mac Users out there: The most recent version of VirtualBox (4.1.4) running 64-bit Ubuntu was able to run a Mira v3.4.0 hybrid 454/Illumina assembly on my MacPro w/ 64G of RAM and 8 cores just fine. Took about 48 hours and left me just a sliver of RAM to work with on the OS X side while it was doing so, but the results look great. The last version of VirtualBox I tried a few months ago had had a RAM limit of 16G so was not able to complete a Mira run, but since the new version removed those limits I was able to assign 55G to Linux and everything worked great. Just sharing. - Egon On Sep 29, 2011, at 7:10 AM, Severine Jancek wrote: > > >> Not sure this helps, but there was a post in January reporting a similar >> error.
