Only if one knows exactly what is currently happening (which apart from me 
might be just one or two other people on earth).

In general, I do not recommend that you touch/delete files in the "log" 
directory (a misnomer since quite some time) until the assembly finished.

On the other hand: you have a project with just 850k reads and it takes a 
week? This should not take more than a couple of hours.

Which version of MIRA are you running, what's the command line and on what 
hardware (RAM? is there NFS)?

I recommend you test the 3.2.1.9 development version.
