Hi team,

@Jerry, did you etch the new board, is it ok now? I am sorry that you have to
waste time etching the first one, with small pads.

Regarding LM1117-3.3v, it is a TO-252 package there. I put this one because I
don't think this regulator comes in to-92 package, at least I couldn't find on
ebay or on my local suppliers (www.tme.eu). Other options were TO220 or sot
232, both are either to big or to small.

Anyway, If the board was for me only I would have done it full SMD, except some
parts of course. From 2 years ago I work only with SMD, 1206, and I found it
that is easier and fast to solder than tht's, even without a magnifier. Now, I
want to try implementing 0805 or small :)
Its even cheaper with smd. I bought from ebay 1206 assorments kits, with
resistors and caps, with 12-15$, sets with over 70 values @ 20pcs each that
will last me for years. I have only bought extra 100n @ 200pcs caps, beacuse
those ones are used the most.
Maybe in future I will make a SMD Minima also.

Mac, I've attached a picture of the TO-252 for you. If you don't like
using that package, the LM1117 also comes in the TO-220 package, for
which you would have to drill three holes.  The whole digital board can
be built using through hole parts just by drilling 7 extra holes. Why
would you ask someone to redesign a board when all you have to do is
drill 7 more holes.  The si570 is what it is and in the only package
available. Jerry K5LRU

Correction - The package the LM1117 needs to be in an SOT-223 package.
