Jacob had approached the Fire Museum and they ask us to share this with our MHS
colleagues..
Craig
I am interested in learning more about the Cincinnati Fire Museum. I have
worked in the museum field in a variety of roles since 2010, and my wife and I
are moving to the Cincinnati area in August for her PhD program in Paleontology
at the University of Cincinnati. We will be in the area through Wednesday
(6/26) and I would appreciate the opportunity to visit your museum and speak
with you.
When looking into museums around Cincinnati, I came across the Cincinnati Fire
Museum and was excited about there being such an institution in this area. I
grew up with my stepfather being a city firefighter in Kernersville, NC and I
have previously worked for two other museums that interpreted the fire fighting
history of their respective regions, granted on a much smaller scale.
My background is a combination of education, exhibits, and collections. I have
previously worked for multiple institutions in North Carolina and Tennessee,
focusing on engaging the public with local history at museums and historic
sites and I look forward to continuing that work in Cincinnati.
Below is a link to my webpage, which includes my resume, for your convenience.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Jacob M. Simpson
