Hi all—

By now you’ve seen Anna’s update and I join you in both missing her as
part of our team and also in wishing well as she moves into this next part
of her career.

Anna gave a great deal of time and effort to grow MHS, ensure policies we
set and to always move us forward.  I plan to continue on the course she
set as I finish out her term.

Two items:

1.       Next week’s meeting is an evening meeting followed by a
professional development presentation on event planning for small
nonprofits by Margaret Bedillion.  Margaret was the manager of events at
National Underground railroad freedom Center, then she moved to do the same
work for the Newport Aquarium, and finally, after the birth of her daughter
Isabella, she took on a part time role at the Clermont County Convention
and Visitors Bureau with a major goal of doing exactly what we at MHS try
to do…help support smaller entities by leveraging resources and working
together. As ALWAYS, MHS membership is organizational, so if there is a
volunteer or staff/board member who helps plan your events—make sure they
know they too can come to this meeting!  The meeting starts at 6:30pm.

2.       Committees—half a year has now passed since we signed-up for
committees.  ALL committees please be prepared to report on your work at
the June meeting. We will also take a few moments to send around sign-up
sheets to give everyone a chance to add/change any committee choices. (yes,
I too am guilty of back-burnering a committee assignment this spring…ARGH)
