We all know that it's nearly impossible to run a museum without incurring
overtime. The new law going into effect this year will force employers to
pay overtime wages for salaried employees making less than $47,476 per
year. This *DOES* apply to museums that take in $500,000 per year in
grants/donations/admissions/gift shop.

ARE YOU READY?
Did you know that the U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) recently proposed a new 
rule that has the potential to increase the standard salary threshold for 
overtime exemptions to $50,440 per year? The DoL sent the Final White Collar 
Rule to the Office of Management and Budget on March 14th, 2016.

If the OMB blesses the final rule, it could be published by the Federal 
Register in May, with a proposed effective date in July. If you are not 
prepared, this update could cost you thousands in higher wages or employee 
lawsuits.
