Actually, Ray, it is not only when one thinks outside the box that people
misunderstand. We all have a tendency to hear what we want to hear (I accept
this wasn’t the case in the incident you cited) and I have often heard people
thank me for saying something in a sermon that I never knew I had said.
Sometimes God is giving them a personal message for them, sometimes they have
just completely misunderstood. We just have to pray that the Holy Spirit works
in people’s hearts to get across the message he wants people to hear.
