Indeed, if it is clearly visible in the photos there can be difficult legal
implications.

Subject: [methmins] Re: Marriage Registers
It is possible to photograph couples signing the schedule, which is what they
do in Scotland. The register is hardly visible in the traditional photo, so I
doubt the couple would be bothered.

I have just bought the C/E register for one church (£25) as I have two
weddings there in July. It is mostly so that the couples have decent document
to sign for their photos which I think is one of the traditional and important
features of a marriage ceremony, but it will also be a helpful record of
weddings for the church

Dear all,
I suspect this has been on Groudhog Presbyters on Facebook, but as I have
not yet decided to rejoin that august group, I thought I'd ask here instead!
As those of us in the active work are mostly painfully aware, the Marriage
Registration System changed yesterday. While there is great rejoicing (from
me at least!) at no longer having to fill in two Registers, plus the
Certificate, plus the Return, and hope that you don't make a mistake on
them, it does mean that churches will now have to make their own
arrangements if they want to keep an ongoing record of marriages.
Looking around, as the Anglicans have still to keep a record Church House
Publishing have produced a suitable Register; just wondering how many
churches are going to want to keep a record, and how they are doing it!
God Bless
Rob
