Thanks for the helpful suggestions, Ian. I have used the eastern greeting from
time to time when someone has proffered a hand to me. It was suggested to me at
the last service I conducted before the first lockdown, by someone who had
spent time in India.
The elbow bump looks silly to me and always makes me think of Boris, so I avoid
that one. And someone pointed out that we're also encouraged to cough into our
elbows, so if you then bump someone else you could be transferring virus.

I think John there are various options. I have wondered about the
laying on of hands in conformation or even ordination. (I think one ex
President sanitised his hands before each act of ordination) You could
sanitise your hands before and after the handshake, put your hands together
and up to your face in an eastern greeting of peace, stretch out your hands
and stop short of an embrace or any physical contact. Or even the elbow bump
of fellowship (sorry, being a bit cynical). I think you must be aware if
what the local church are doing to preserve safety and what a right hand of
fellowship may make the congregation think they have permission to do.
