Project Assistant position on ant mimicry in spiders
Azim Premji University, Bangalore invites applications from students with a
MSc degree in Biology, preferably with a life science, zoology,or ecology
background. Candidate with some prior experience working with insects and
spiders; and experience in data analysis is preferred.

Fellowship Amount: 15,000 including HRA.
*Brief summary of the project:* Mimicry provides striking examples of
adaptation
by natural selection. Ant-like resemblance is seen in over 2,000 species
of arthropods, yet, interactions among ants, mimics and predators have been
poorly understood. The project will involve behavioral observations and
chemical ecology of ant mimics (spiders, and various insects), ants and
non-mimics. Some amount of travelling will be required.
