Dear Yeti Admin,
Please forward this to the community.
Thanks,
Thomas

This Earth Day, come be a part of a citizen science event to
photograph, map and document trees.

How to Participate

The Neighborhood Trees Campaign is a citizen science activity
scheduled to start from Earth Day (22nd April) until 30th April.
Here's how you can participate.

Photograph Trees between 22nd and 30th April.
Join TreesIndia and upload your observations.
Help identify trees.

Visit TreesIndia for more details

Identify Trees

A community of more than 1200 users comprising experts and enthusiasts
help identify the uploaded trees and curate data. Over 90% of the
12,000 trees uploaded have been identified. If you are knowledgeble on
tree identification you too can help.

Identify Trees

Annotate Traits

Examing images of the trees, any participating user can now annotate
observations with traits such as flowering, fruiting, shedding or new
leaves. This information will help in understanding the seasonality
(Phenology) of tree species.

Participate

Why?

TreesIndia is envisioned to bring people from all walks of life to
contribute and build a vibrant virtual community to document the
natural and cultural history of all the trees in India.  It enlists
your participation to create a descriptive page for every tree species
in India and aggregate information on their morphology, distribution
and seasonality. Every observation that is uploaded and identified
through the campaign will help towards this objective.
