*Dear Nature Enthusiasts,*
The *Foundation for Ecological Welfare (FEW), *a not-for-profit Foundation
has been organising various activities to create ecological awareness.
Publication of ePeriodical Jalaplavit (ISSN 2321-1881), production and
launching of documentary films biodiversity and online interviews of
experts are some of them.
From Earth Day-2022 (on 22-4-2022), FEW had started a webinar series *"Youth
for Ecological Welfare"*. In each episode, a young
researcher/educationist/field-level conservationist is invited to give a
powerpoint presentation on the topic of his/her expertise or thrust area.
He/she will also be asked questions for bringing more clarity about the
subject of the presentation.
In our second episode at 8:30 am on 15-5-2022, *an Entomologist* *Dr.
Kalavanti Mokaria * *will be giving a 40 minutes online presentation on* *the
topic "**EXPLORING DRAGONFLIES* - *An Entomological Approach**".* In this
presentation she will be talking about *Common morphological features of
Dragonflies and Damselflies, Special Adaptations and evolution of
Dragonflies Group, Role of Dragonflies, Habitats of Dragonflies, Recent
research on dragonflies in Gujarat State, **Significance of Dragonfly
studies**, & **Dragonfly associated Scientific gatherings in India.* The
viewers/participants would be able to send their questions during the
presentation in the chat box. Dr. Kalavanti Mokaria is a highly motivated
researcher (Entomologist) with more than 11 years of research experience
collectively on biodiversity research with an emphasis on insects of
various ecosystems. She is also an Executive member of the Indian Dragonfly
Society (IDS). Her doctoral research pertained to ecology of odonates
(dragonflies and damselflies).
All those interested in the amazing subject of dragonflies and their
research are invited to attend this free webinar! For registration and for
