As luck would have it, I have been volunteered by the "powers that be" to invite, ask, encourage, attract, cajole and otherwise remind, request, summon, harass and induce (circle one) you to attend the April 25th, 2009 rendition of the MDC Annual Meeting. It may seem like a ways off, but it will be here before you know it. This is a one time per year offer and will not be repeated until 2010! Don't miss out! Shown below is the first message Jim sent out. What he couldn't elaborate on too much then, was that there are some really neat things planned for the meeting, including at least one surprise. Additionally, we have also invited numerous of our Tri-MARS brethren and clients. Our SMD has been working overtime on this to make it one of the most unique and productive annual meetings that many of us have ever attended. The location alone, at the QTH of client agency MEMA, shows some giant strides in the right direction. OR, as if that isn't enough to make the plates of your 3-500's glow, just come and hang out with us. We'd really like to see you again and for some, put a smiling face with the call sign. About food. The nearest MacDonald's is about 4 miles away and it would take you out of the meeting for at least an hour to make the round trip, just to pick something up. Remember, part of the site access equation is that you have to drive through a security check point, then sign in and out of a secure facility. Bring a photo ID such as your driver's license. Because of this, we are arranging a cold cuts type luncheon on the premises, along with drinks, for $5 per person. We need to know if you are coming to the meeting, yes, but we also need to know if you intend to partake of this spread so we can make plans with our caterer. There is a small canteen on site, from which you can purchase soft drinks and snacks, so bring some change to use that. We will also have coffee. If you wish to bring your own eats, there are two or three microwave ovens in the canteen so you can heat or cook whatever you want. As much as I appreciate the compliment, please don't assume my crystal ball is going to help me know whether you are coming to this shindig. I need to hear from each and everyone of you by close of business on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Please let me know if a) you are attending the meeting and b) you are going to purchase our catered lunch. Two queries advanced, two answers needed. Spouses or significant others are welcome, should you want to bring someone. You need to answer those questions for them also, and please identify them by name (call sign if they have one). All attendees will be added to the access control list for the facility to smooth out your visit. Questions? Issues? Please send a response message directly to me to keep traffic off of this list: aar3ck@xxxxxxxxxxx OR aar3ck@xxxxxxxxxxx (Please remember to use the winlink subject line precursor //MARS R/ ) TNX es 73, John AAM3MD BT NNNN ORIGINAL MESSAGE: 1.
