The group of 10 people who joined the club meeting online this past Monday
evening thought it would be a great idea to get together in our Corvairs
this weekend (“socially distanced” of course!). You can drive the water
pumper if your Monza, Corsa, 500, Lakewood, Rampside or Greenbriar is in a
state of disrepair. The idea is to meet somewhere near town, visit across
and beside our cars and journey to a nearby lunch spot such as a Sonic or
other eatery where we can dine together but safely apart (keep your
distance, 6 feet recommended).
We originally thought Saturday might work but the weather forecast calls
for rain, so Sunday afternoon it is. I will send out an email by Saturday
with the lunch destination and rendezvous point. As of now, we are looking
to meet up in downtown Nashville on or near Broadway and 2nd. I will map
out a short fun run route for the area and am open to ideas for where to
congregate for a late lunch. Burgers or barbeque sound good, we just need
a place to sit unless we all eat in our Corvairs. (I am allowed to eat in
my Corvair. The luxurious vinyl upholstery washes up very easily.)
