Great meeting tonight ClubITers, we really set some goals tonight that we
can hopefully achieve with our extra time over Spring Break. Do remember to
take some time to rest while you're trying to catch up on your class work,
cram for certification exams, and beef up your NCL score. For those unable
to make it this week or for anyone who might need a refresher, this week we:
-Touched on the preseason for National Cyber League. The preseason has
begun and all participants *must *complete at least one of the preseason
challenges to qualify for the individual and team games. The gym is still
open and will be accessible to anyone still wishing to hone their skills.
While club members can assist each other with gym challenges, participants
must complete their preseason challenge(s) by themselves.
*-*Plugged another hacking competition, this time from Terminix. It's a
capture the flag challenge open to all skill levels taking place on Friday
3/26. The entry is capped at 250 participants so if you're interested do
register <https://lnkd.in/dKh8CBT> early.
*-*Brought up again the idea of a Spring Break Sendoff game night. Dates
and times were difficult to get a consensus on so it has been brought to a
poll in the poll discord channel. Be sure to vote on that today and
tomorrow when the second one will be posted. Time and Date will then be
confirmed in announcements.
*-*Plugged a Women in STEM <https://tinyurl.com/MCCWomenSTEM> Zoom that
MiraCosta will be having on the 31st.
*-*Worked on improving our NCL toolbox googledoc so that it would better
elaborate on which tools to use for what kinds of challenges. The goal of
this is to make it easier for someone to navigate and apply properly as
they tackle NCL. All members are welcome and encouraged to contribute to
the document, and it is pinned in the National_Cyber_League channel so you
can more easily do so. We started this during the last half of the club so
the format is already started as an example of what we are trying to build.
Use this document to help yourself through NCL, and reach out to members
when you have questions.
