If you want to come for part of the time, that's ok, but there's no
guarantee of where we are. That bit of the ocean is too random to be
locking in places with dates, so we will plan on the fly - we could be
anywhere from Apollo Bay to Portland.

year. The dives will be relatively easy in terms of depths (generally
10-30m), but will not be very beginner friendly in terms of conditions we
may face, so a recent shore dive will likely be a mandatory requirement.
*Western Victoria Trip:*
After doing the east coast last year, I'm planning a club trip for
the Australia Day long weekend (23-26th Jan) to Western Victoria. So as
not to clash with a probable Portland trip in earlier Jan (TBC) we will
probably focus on the likes of Apollo Bay, Cape Otway, the shipwreck
coast/Warrnambool/Port Fairy. Fairly weather-dependent the itinerary will
be flexible, and the 4 day weekend is nice. There will be cool ocean
terrain, wrecks (general well beaten up), crays and a few other odds and
ends.
*Jindabyne Trip:*
It's Lake Jindabyne for the Labour Day long weekend (12-14th March) next
year. It's an alpine lake at 1000m, about 6hrs drive east from Melbourne
with the remnants of the flooded town. The vis is 3-5m (good enough for
meaningful photos), the water temperature is 20degC down to about 10m,
and gets to 10degC at 40m+. There are only a few partly-intact houses 9and
they are in <20m) but 2 fully submerged bridges and various other things of
interest to check out - in depths of 15-55m. Some survey work and
exploration to be done. If you haven't done it, the novelty value is off
the charts (plus it's freshwater, so no gear washing) and if you have, you
know what you're up for...
