Remember, MARC members and associates, there is no meeting this week,
but starting next week on September 1st Murray City Fire Department will
be giving us CERT training. If you are already CERT trained, you can
still come for a refresher. If you are not, and want to be, you'll want
to plan to attend the first and third meetings in September and October,
and the second meeting in November.
You do NOT have to be a member of MARC to attend, so if you have a
friend, neighbor, or relative who is interested, bring them along. You
also do NOT have to be a resident of Murray to attend.
The schedule as I currently have it is as follows:
September 1st and 15th and October 6th will be at station 81.
October 20th will be at station 83.
November 10th will be at station 84.
All meetings will start promptly at 6:30 PM and expect them to last
about two hours (a little longer than our normal meetings).
There will be an opportunity to purchase a resource kit that includes a
manual, hard hat, and some other supplies for a reasonable fee. I do
not know what this fee is, but I believe the last time the city offered
this course the kit was $25. As I understand it, the manual alone is
worth the price. I will have more on this next week.
