Greetings, MARC Members and Friends of MARC!
Once again the time has come for our monthly meeting. This month, we
will have Dan (N7XDL) teaching us about Faraday Cages, Protecting Your
Equipment from CME and EMP. If you attended last week's meeting, you'll
have learned about how deadly to electronics CME and EMP events can be.
This week, you'll find out what you can do to mitigate these problems!
The meeting will be at Murray Fire Station #81, located at 4848 S Box
Elder St (35 W), at 6:30 PM in the community room. *NOTE: the fire
department has an event between 5:00 and 6:00 PM*... they should be done
and cleared out by 6:30 but you might have trouble finding a parking
spot if you tend to arrive early. Don't panic!
We will have a brief check-in net prior to the meeting at 6:00 PM on
147.600 MHz simplex (no tone or offset), which is channel 31 in the
Standard Load. Please join us if you can. These nets are to help us
confirm that we can communicate even if the repeaters are down and to
help us make sure we can program our equipment effectively. If you are
having trouble programming your radio, bring it along and someone at the
meeting will help you!
