Greetings, MARC Members and Friends of MARC!
Once again, the second Thursday of the month is coming up and it is time
for our Advanced Topics class. This month, we will be privileged to
have Gary (KK7DV) talk to us about his Remote Base setup. Gary
currently lives in Wellsville, up in Cache County, but he still owns a
property here in the SLC area. He uses a remote base setup to operate a
radio here in SLC from his QTH in Wellsville! If you want to learn how
this is done, you'll want to attend this meeting. Gary will be joining
us via Zoom.
The meeting, as usual, will begin at 6:30 PM Mountain Time on Thursday,
7 April 2022. We will be meeting at the Murray Fire Department station
#83 in the EOC. Station 83 is located at 484 W 5900 S, here in Murray,
UT. We'll put the Zoom session up on the big monitor so everyone can
see and hear, and we'll route questions as needed. If you can't make
the meeting in person, please feel free to join the Zoom (the link can
be found later in this message).
Immediately prior to the meeting, starting at 6:00 PM, we will have our
brief "check-in" net on 223.440 MHz simplex (no tone or offset). If you
don't have equipment to operate on the 1.25m band, please look into
getting at least one radio with that capability as this is our primary
emergency frequency. If you need recommendations, please ask.
