Greetings, MARC Members and Friends of MARC!
Once again, the first Thursday of the month is coming up and it is time
for our Beginner's Topics class. This month, we will be privileged to
have Josh from Bridgecom Systems give us a presentation on DMR. For
those unfamiliar with DMR, it is a digital audio mode that allows both
local and world wide communications using repurposed commercial radio
gear (handheld and mobile). Bridgecom Systems is a US vendor for
several Anytone radios that work with DMR. Josh will join us via Zoom
to talk about DMR, how it works, and hopefully show some of the products
that Bridgecom Systems offers. Bring your technical questions, as Josh
has experts available to answer your questions about this up and coming
mode.
The meeting, as usual, will begin at 6:30 PM Mountain Time on Thursday,
7 April 2022. We will be meeting at the Murray Fire Department station
#81, located at 4848 S Box Elder St (35 W) here in Murray, UT. We'll
put the Zoom session up on the big monitors so everyone can see and
hear, and we'll route questions as needed. If you can't make the
meeting in person, please feel free to join the Zoom (the link can be
found later in this message).
Immediately prior to the meeting, starting at 6:00 PM, we will have our
brief "check-in" net on the club repeater, at 223.96 MHz with a PL of
103.5 Hz. If you don't have equipment to operate on the 1.25m band,
please look into getting at least one radio with that capability as this
is our primary emergency frequency. If you need recommendations, please
ask.

Hope to see you all there!
