Greetings, MARC Members and Friends of MARC!
Once again, it is time for our basic topics class, which will be held at
the Murray Fire Station #81, located at 4848 S Box Elder St
(approximately 35 W). The meeting will start promptly at 6:30 PM MST
and will be preceded at 6:00 by a brief "check-in" net on the Murray
repeater at 223.960 MHz (PL 103.5, offset -1.6 MHz). Please join us if
you can.
The meeting will be led by our own Dan (N7XDL), who will be briefing us
on Grounding and Bonding, two related topics that are critical to the
safe operation of your amateur radio equipment.
Based on the outcome of a recent medical test, I will likely NOT be
attending the meeting this week (no, it's not COVID-19) pending a brief
chat with my doctor tomorrow. I will join the net if I am able.
Also, for those who did not make the last Sunday Evening Net, the
repeater we use for our Sunday nets, located on Ensign Peak, has a new
trustee. The repeater is now operated by the Salt Lake Crossroads
Amateur Radio Club (http://slcarc.org/). They have confirmed that we
will be able to continue using the repeater for our club with no
changes. We thank Marty (K7MLA) for his years of service to the amateur
radio community and for having provided the repeater up to this point.
