Greetings, MARC Members and Friends of MARC!
This week will be the first session of our Murray Fire Department
sponsored CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team) training. This
training is offered by the fire department to MARC members and guests,
so please feel free to bring your friends and neighbors along.
The training will be broken up into five sessions, each two hours long.
Session 1 will be on September 1st. Session 2 will be on September
15th. Session 3 will be on October 6th. Session 4 will be on October
20th. Session 5, the final session, will be on November 10th. Sessions
1-3 will be held at station 81. Session 4 will be at station 83.
Session 5 will be at station 84. I will send out reminders each week
with the specific locations. Each session will start at 6:30 PM and run
until approximately 8:30 PM.
This week, Thursday, September 1st will be at Murray Fire Department
station 81, located at 4848 S Box Elder St (35 W).
We will have a brief net prior to the meeting at 6:00 PM on our club
repeater at 223.96 MHz (tone of 103.5 Hz). If you do not have a radio
that will operate on the 1.25m band, you should consider purchasing one
as that is our primary emergency response frequency. Radio
recommendations are available on the club web site at

If you have not completed CERT training before or you have but would
like a refresher course, please come to the meeting this week! We hope
to see you all there.
