Greetings MARC Members and Friends of MARC,

This is your friendly reminder of the "Advanced Topics" class that will be held at Murray Fire Station #81 (4848 S Box Elder St, approx 35 W) at 6:30 PM MST on Thursday, 13 January 2022.

This week, we will be revisiting AREDN and mesh networking, along with discussion and updating of the Murray Amateur Data Network proposal.  Please review this document here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PsolKk4LjDwrnfcWdaICwns8yiYbfdEeiQB6tG5_IYY/edit?usp=sharing) prior to the meeting.  Please come prepared to discuss the proposal and what changes may be required before presenting it to our sponsoring agency.

Prior to the meeting, at 6:00 PM MST, we will have a brief "check-in" net on 223.440 MHz simplex (no tone or offset).  As usual, if you do not have a radio that has the 1.25m band, please consider purchasing one.  The club has had good experience with the TYT TH-350, which is currently available from Amazon at https://amzn.to/3Fj5SvS (they only had 12 in stock when I looked, so get one quick) or at Buy Two Way Radios (https://www.buytwowayradios.com/tyt-th-350.html) for about $70. The club also has some older Baofeng dual-band radios that include 1.25m and 70cm that are available to check out.

We are still working on getting a line on the Anytone AT-5888UV III tri-band mobile radios.  The latest information we have is that these radios may be available again in March.  We may be able to order them directly from the manufacturer for approximately $210 per unit plus $35 shipping (orders must be in multiples of 10).  If you are interested in participating in a group buy, please fill in your information here: https://forms.gle/NuEZfFMT4Sgo3rNm6

Hope to see you all at the meeting!
