Greetings, MARC Members and Friends of MARC!
Once again, it is time for our monthly "basic topics" class, which will
be held on Thursday, 3 March 2022 beginning at 6:30 PM. The meeting
will be at our normal location, Murray City Fire Department Station #81,
located at 4848 S Box Elder St (35 W). I will be presenting on
Computers in the Ham Shack.
If you are able, please join us prior to the meeting at 6:00 PM on the
Murray ARC repeater at 223.96 MHz (PL 103.5 Hz, offset -1.6 MHz) for a
brief "check-in" net. These check-in nets are designed to help us learn
how to configure and use our radios for frequencies and situations that
are not typical, so if you have a radio with the 1.25m band, please join
us (even if you can't make the meeting). If you do not have a radio
with the 1.25m band, you should look into acquiring one to be able to
fully participate in club activities. This band is critical to our club
for emergency services and will be our primary resource in the event of
a club activation for an emergency event. One suggestion is the TYT
TH-350, which can be purchased on Amazon for about $70
