No, you do not. They can book in on here like everyone else, or they can
play a different game. :)
Part of the joy of West Marches style games is that because they are a bit
ad hoc and low prep that I, the GM, am not committing to:
Cat-herding
Running other people's lives for them
Prepping games for people who may/may not show up.
In exchange:
I'm flexible about my time slots
Will provide a style of D&D that isn't really available anywhere else
If your friends can't be bothered to:
Read an email or digest
Type "I'd like to play"
Show up
Then I'm not bothered about running for them. I very much value players
who are prepared to show up and explore. And I've really, really enjoyed
running three out of three games to date. So big thanks to everyone who
has come along. Looking forward to doing more!

Sounds like 5 people to me. :)
James, on this one occasion, I'm ok with you booking for other people,
but any future games, I will require people to book themselves.

Just a reminder:
To play you need:
1) a venue, a date and a time
2) a destination from the map or some other quantifiable
3) Between 3 and 5 players.
