From the journal of the adventurer Serenity
A new day arises, as do the opportunities to expand our knowledge of the new
and wondrous land, one such opportunity was posted on the community board, a
request was made to reconnoiter the extent of the Urukim territories, that
control the load of amber a previous team of adventurers happened upon.
We started the journey amid a foul foggy day, but decided that a job done
quickly is a job completed quickly, and headed off. The going was exhausting
but trudge on we did. One day led to two, and the weather lamentably did not
improve and we woke to hard driving rain. And once more trudge on we did, over
stream and up a short cliff, finding along the way suitable camp sites for
future endeavours.
This next part I am reluctant to put to paper, but I know I must.
Once we set up camp, a group of 5 Urukim happened upon us, and Tiziano, with
great diplomatic skill, managed to calm the situation before any aggression
could take place. Tiziano was in conversation with their leader, and that is
when I, to my great shame made a fatal mistake. I cast a spell on the food we
were to serve the Urukim to make it taste as something most agreeable to our
guests, and they took this for hostile action, a brief fight ensued, where
three brave warriors including their leader lost their lives. We managed to
take two alive, and after Tiziano briefly questioned them, we let the survivors
leave further unmolested.
I can only hope to have learned from this tragedy and ensure it never happens
again.
Now its time to try and rest, and hope that tomorrow will see our job
completed.
