I listen h^to voiceover through the internal of my macbook pro. Sometimes I
connect the headphone output to my audio mixer, a Zoom L12.
Could it be that audio ducking is enabled on your system? Check it out by
pressing VO+F8, sound/audio. When disabled Voiceover shouldn't fade out at all
