To use the multiple selection, oyu need to turn off the cursor tracking so that it dioes not interfere with the vo selection, then press vo command space to select the items you want, even non contiguous items. This is good for example if you need to add tracks from itunes to the ipod. To go to the bottom of the table, once you have interacted with it press vo end.
