thanks Keith, will go to ap store and try the download. so i guess if it downloads then it's OK to run. good point as it was that same sinario that prompted me to upgrade ram last time. I hope it works though as i don't want a new machine at this time.

The other thing is that the app store will not let you download the new cat if your computer will not run it.
